On-Site or Seated Acupressure Massage is a health maintenance massage designed to improve circulation and facilitate the flow of energy throughout the body using a highly structured form of massage, resulting in maximum benefit in the shortest amount of time.
Seated acupressure is based on a traditional form of Japanese massage called ANMA. It was first introduced to Japan approximately 1500 years ago from China. ANMA is Japanese literally for “press and rub” – hence “massage”.
You would sink forward and relax into the specifically designed treatment chair and your knees, chest and arms are fully supported by comfortable pads. I would then use my hands and elbows to work on over 100 specific stress release pressure points on the scalp, neck, shoulders, glutes, back, arms and hands throughout the sequence.
This treatment is done while you are seated on a specially massage chair. You will be fully clothed and no oils or creams are used.

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE

2 HOURS £130
Myofascial Release (MFR) is a type of soft tissue massage incorporating stretching and the elongating of the connective tissues such as fascia. It is a powerful method of releasing tension from problem areas such as the neck, the diaphragm, lower back and pelvis. Myofascial Release is a safe, effective, hands-on technique, involving gentle sustained pressure and stretching into the myofascial connective tissue. This helps to eliminate pain and restore motion.
Myofascial release begins with a gentle massage which is designed to warm and loosen muscles. This helps me identify areas of tension which require further attention, and I return to those areas to stretch and work the fascia. Sometimes myofascial release can be quite intense, especially in the case of muscles which are holding a great deal of tension and stress.
A Myofascial Release Treatment session is performed directly on skin without oils or creams. It works on the principle that many people hold stress in their muscles causing them to seize, tighten or lock. Injuries or scarring will exacerbate this. The purpose of myofascial release is to access these areas of blockage and tension and release them, by freeing up the muscle and allowing it to move more easily. During MFR treatment, the client can be worked on in various positions, or the massage therapist may only stretch a muscle in a small way, using a few fingers to get deep into the muscle and pull it into a beneficial stretch. Working with the breath in combination with the stretches should maximise the effectiveness of MFR.
Regular myofascial release can improve posture, counter-act muscle soreness and increase flexibility and help with a variety of conditions some of which are listed below:
Arthritis
Back Pain
Fibromyalgia
Migraines
Neck Pain
Neurological Dysfunction
Pelvic Pain
Physical Stress
Postural Irregularities
Psychological Stress
Scars
Sciatica
Scoliosis
Sports Injuries
Whiplash
ONCOLOGY MASSAGE
60 MINUTES £70
1 HR 15 MINS £82.50
1 HR 30 MINS £95
It was very important to me that I gain my diploma in Oncology Massage, as massage is a therapy which should be inclusive, available to everyone.
A massage will NOT spread cancer. This is a myth and is completely untrue. Cancer is spread through genes mutating, and NOT the mechanical movement of massage.
However, it is very important that if a client is living with cancer, and wishes a massage, that the massage is given by a QUALIFIED ONCOLOGY MASSAGE SPECIALIST. The reason for this is that the massage has to be adapted and tailored to suit the client and the Massage Therapist has to be fully aware of how to do this.
Anyone who has ever received cancer treatment, from those in active treatment to those in recovery or survivorship, as well as those at the end of life, are best served by a massage therapist such as I, who has received training in Oncology Massage.
Essential aspects of an Oncology Massage Therapist's skill set are an informed understanding of the disease itself and the many ways it can affect the human body; the side effects of cancer treatments, such as medications, surgery, chemotherapy and radiation; and the ability to modify massage techniques in order to adapt for these side effects, as well as for the disease.
As always, a full consultation will be carried out prior to the therapy.
Benefits:
Reduces pain, headaches, nausea, anxiety and depression and fatigue.
Aids sleep, mental clarity, range of movement, health of scar tissue and quality of life.

CUPPING THERAPY FOR PAIN MANAGEMENT
60 MINUTES £70
ADD ON TO MASSAGE AVAILABLE
The Functional Integrated Cupping Therapy (FICT) to give it it's full fancy name (!) is based on the ancient history and application of old Chinese medicine.
In this treatment, I place special cups on your skin to create suction. They then pull blood to a region to stimulate healing.
Cupping is effective at stretching tight fascia and muscles. It also helps the tissue develop new blood flow and causes anti-inflammatory chemicals in the body.
Cupping may alleviate pain, decrease swelling, increase range of motion in joints all of which can assist the healing process.
By creating negative pressure above the surface of the tissues, we allow the surface tissue to be lifted upwards which changes the pressure on underlying tissues, such as nerves, capillaries and fascia.
The suction and negative pressure provided by cupping can loosen muscles, encourage blood flow, and sedate the nervous system (which makes it an excellent treatment for high blood pressure). Science part over!!!
Cupping is also used to relieve:
Pains
Stiff muscles
Anxiety
Fatigue
Migraines
Rheumatism
Inflammation
Also used to help blood flow, for relaxation and well-being, and in assisting a deep-tissue massage.
A firm favourite with clients and highly recommended.
